A little update. Stitch's limping is as good as gone. The eye swelling is gone too but still he has the thick greyish slime in the corners of both his eyes 🤔 seems very persistent. Otherwise he is a happy little cat. This weekend he is gonna have his first baby sitter. We will leave Saturday and be back on sunday. But he will be in good hands. Our friend Mike, who also has a cat that is the dearest thing to him, will come over and make sure he gets everything he needs. First time I'm not the babysitter and the roles are swaped 😄 Stitch, if you could believe it, keeps getting snugglier. Today he fell as sleep in my lap, and when I had a nap in the sofa he came and cuddled right up in my arms like a little Teddy 🥹 barely dared to breathe haha he was so cute. Day 14 🐈‍⬛  2 weeks! It has gone so fast. Ofc we need an update. As much as I've prepared myself for this I could never have haha. I remember my biggest worry was that he wouldn't like us or like it here. That when we found him he was just so cute and happy because he'd been alone and afraid for so long outside. But he truly is the sweetest little guy, even more than I could ever have imagined 🥹♥️ it has been challenging at times with his paws, limping and eye infection. But he truly is the perfect little soul and we already feel that we cannot imagine our lives without him.  Today we built his new toilet house and instead of hiding like when we built the clothing rack in the first days, he was sniffing every tool, climbing into the cabinet, testing the view from the top of it, laying on top of the boxes and inspecting our work. Day 13 🐈‍⬛  As tomorrow the little guy has been here for 2 weeks this might be the last daily update from us. I think the crazy that Sofia was talking about is just starting to show 😆 ever since stitch got his tunnel he wants to play several times a day. He goes and sits next to it until we play with him and then his eyes go entirely black and he goes into beast mode 👀😂 today he even dared to scoot across the room during the play. Up until now he has been quite stationary. In/around his tunnel or rolling around. Even a ball and his own tail (thought only dogs did that 😂) got some playtime and he skips around the house and climbs and jumps. Eyes are open and not swollen but can see some goo in the corners of them still. Very minimal limping, even in the morning before medication. He has become more vocal as well and often greets us with a mew, or let's us know he wants the balcony door open so he can sniff the air outside, little Ferdinand. 🌼🐄 We still sleep pretty bad, but t...

Day 12 🐈‍⬛🌟  Just a short update today but stitch is getting better day by day. Still can see some goo in the corners of his eyes sometime but the swelling is down and the limping barely there. Giving him the medicine is getting harder though and there is a lot of paws flying 😮‍💨 When he is not trying to escape medication, or hunting in his tunnel he is just a sweet little baby though 🥹❤️

Day 11 😸 stitch is a changed cat! His paws look so much better now and his eyes too. Still a bit infected in one of them but he opens both. He has been strutting around all day with barely any limp. Also instantly started climbing and jumping down from things. Previously he didn't dare to jump anywhere and would stall and need help or find a way to step down slowly. He has more confidence and was more explorative and very playful today. He loves his little tunnel and toys and is so cute peeking out with his lil face 🥹 played several times and started training him some tricks today as he is very snackie oriented. We are looking forward to when he is completely well and the eye poking and all can cease. He is very tolerant but we can tell he is getting a bit frustrated with it. Still he is the most sweet and loving cat and just wants to be close at nearly all times and we feel so lucky to have him with us ♥️

Katie: Ok, Kikki said that we should give the eyedrops and metacam 3-5 days before we evaluate if its working Day 10 🐈‍⬛ Okay. Thank you for checking. Today he is actually soo much better. 😮‍💨 The eye that was sick at first looks almost healed. And his limp isnt so bad either. He actually came running to snuggle in bed. Sorry, I got a bit frightened when I saw his swollen eye yesterday. I'm not used to it like you guys are so got really worried. But if it keeps going like this that is great. We are treating both his eyes until they are both healed unless you have any other input. We had a tiny delayed birthday party for him today as he was feeling better. He got to open some gifts and it's safe to say they were a hit 🥰❤️🐈‍⬛

Well.. Woke up to find that now both his eyes are infected.. I am wondering though.. Can cats be allergic to catnip? Because both times I've given it to him now he has woken up with an eye infection. Or just coincidence? Perhaps he gets it in his eyes when he rubs himself on things? His eye is still swollen. And he is still limping but has more energy in his steps or what can I say. When applying the lotion to his paws this morning his paws look a lot better but it almost looked like one of his back paws was a bit more swollen than the other. I've also checked his poops more closely. Not sure what they should look like but they are quite hard in consistency. Katie: if the poops dont look moist then he definitely needs more water. Maybe mix a bit of water with his wet food

Day 9 with stitch 🐈‍⬛❤️  Today stitch was really good taking his medicine. It's still unpleasant ofc, especially the eye cream. But I feel like he isn't as shaken by it as the first times and forgets it after some time, snackies and snuggles. Although, I feel like the snackies are starting to show on his figure a little 😅or at least I can feel it. His eye is looking much better. Don't see much of the goo anymore it is mostly swollen. The limping is unfortunately still pretty bad. Even after medication. His spirit feels a bit higher though. Today as I was working he came up to me, I picked him up, and he nearly fell asleep in my lap purring 🥹♥️ then he was very intrigued by the cursor on my computer screen. We saw his playfully side like this two other times today and managed to get him to play a little both times, the later he went pretty crazy haha so I am so happy. I didn't send an update yesterday because I felt you were in the loop already. We did notice improvements later in the evening though after the pain killers. He moved better and I think his eye is looking better too. He does lick of the eye cream quite fast though and it gets everywhere except for his eyes applying it. Just wondering if it's OK that he eats it and won't make him sick? Katie: Thanks for the update. Its ok that he eats it. Of course it would work better if he didnt, but it wont hurt him

Day 7 🐈‍⬛  Now Stitch has been with us for one week and I feel that we have met so many mile stones, it has been so exciting building our relationship. Today has been all about trying to make him well again though, and he is still a little mad with me for it. His eye is still very runny, and he has it closed most of the time. The eye drops were not popular at all, which is understandable. But then on top of it, we noticed some limping yesterday, and today it was a lot worse. We have been in contact with Sofia about this. I've seen it for some days, but it was so little then and I thought I might imagine it, until yesterday one of our friends noticed it too. Today you cannot deny it though. We have checked his paws, which today after the "big eyedrop abuse" was not as popular. But with some help from my partner and some soft cat snackies for distraction I looked as closely as I could manage and rubbed his paws with more of the vitamin d oil. I couldn't see any hairs p...

 Day 6 🐈‍⬛♥️ Last night it was just me and Stitch at home and the fan was of. He was very happy to sleep in the bed telling from the loud purring and the amount of drool he was drooling 😂♥️🥹 fell asleep and was dreaming and "sleep running", slept until near 5 in the morning when he left to sit in the windowsill. Today we were fixing some things in the house and Stitch was under the sofa a lot though. When he hadn't came out in a while I came and talked to him and he immediately stretched and came out which is when I saw he had a lot of goo in one of his eyes. He passed out in the sofa next to me and was dreaming again. His belly was making a lot of noice. Contacted Sofia and they were really sweet, came over and had a look at him, gave him some eye drops and a blankie with smells from his cat friends on it for comfort ♥️ we will keep an eye on his eyes and rinse when necessary. Same with his belly, in case he starts throwing up/having toilet problems. Other than that s...

Day 5 with stitch 🐈‍⬛  he was out all day today sleeping and hanging with us and the night went much smoother. Went and bought him some of that vitamin d for his paws and applied it. Still so happy how fast it worked and that he didn't seem to mind or lick it of. Thanks again ♥️ We also bought some catnip as suggested by Sofia. We tried a spray previously but it didn't do much. The grounded stuff was a whole other story tho. 😂 Didn't even get to open the package until he transformed into toothless the dragon and attacked my foot and started rolling around haha. We also weighed him using his carrier as we were looking into his diet a little bit and trying to learn more about it for the future. It went well and he is around 4,3kg of cuteness. 🌸 Today's pic is of some father and son time ❤️

Day 4 🐈‍⬛ Still not a fan of the fan, but slowly getting a liiittle bit used to it? Feel a little bad though because I can tell he really wants to sleep in the bedroom with us and feels a little lonely outside. He usually sleeps under the sofa or bed while I work. But today he came and layed next to my desk for a while, and after work we both had a nap in the sofa together. He has never slept "in the open" like that before so I think it's a good sign he is getting more comfortable. After he took a nap there by himself as well. He was out nearly all day today and the sounds outside don't seem to scare him anymore. Tried to entice him with some snacks puzzle but it didn't interest him for long. Same with the string. Asked Sofia for some tips but he probably just needs time. Today we also heard some "happy meows" when he greeted or called for us so that was nice 🥰 Stitch letting me know the scratches aren't done yet

Stitch update 3rd day 🐈‍⬛♥️  Yesterday I made a remark to my bf about how we hadn't heard Stitch's voice. Funny thing, this very warm night he decided he was ready to cuddle up in bed with us. As it was warm the fan was on in the bedroom, and it didn't take long before suddenly he let out a very loud MEEEOOOOW that surprised both of us. He kept staring at the fan and meowing at it. Then looking at me like "do you see this shit?" eventually he walked off, still meowing in disbelief. He came back several times during the night to remind us of his disapproval and none of us got very much sleep 😂 today was a good day tho. He found a new spot in the living room window. Had his paws trimmed and moisturized and he was such a good boy. Also cleaned and vacuumed and he was very cool with everything. Stitch Update day 2. 🐈‍⬛ Took a while for him to leave the bed this morning but then he was back to his snuggly self. Only got a little spooked by an ambulance outside at one point at which he scooted back under the bed poor thing. Stitch is a little angel and really loves people. 😆 My bf Janne's brother came over a short while and they were besties right away ❤️ let him cary him around like a purring baby and looked like a little king in heaven with all the attention 😂 In the evening he finally played a little bit! 🥳He was not interested in any of the toys but a piece of string was apparently it. 

First Stitch update 😄♥️ Our first day with Stitch he was being the exemplary little kitten. Ate his food, drank water from his bowl, and made numerous visits to his litter box. Following us around like a fluffy shadow and purring to his hearts content. 🥰 We watched a movie together in the sofa all three of us. Most of the day he was out with us but now and then he retreated under the sofa. During the night he was laying some time in the sofa and eventually slept under our bed. 🥹 Now he had had his breakfast and I'm starting work. He has retreated under the bed perhaps to sleep in a little bit more. Haven't managed to get him to play yet, he seemed more interested in being close, but perhaps in some time.
